Google's Search Test Bed - SearchMash

Looks like Google has launched searchmash which is a testbed for Google's search technologies (although searchmash doesnot contain Google logos). searchmash displays results aggregated by Images / Blogs / Videos / Wikipedia. Curious to check the power of searchmash I searched for "who is the first president of United States of America ?". I got references to whitehouse and President George.W.Bush. I tried the same query in Google and got almost similar results but Google displayed results of relevant books for my query and they had references to George Washington. I think there is still a longgg way to go for Search Engines and related technologies. I am not sure if Google or any other search engine has a service for collecting queries which pulls up irrelevant info and test out their "Next Generation" search technologies with such queries ?
