RSA Security encourages people to try and crack / factorize large prime numbers, the difficulty of which is the base for RSA Encryption. In Nov 2005, RSA-640 was factorized and the team which factorized won a prize of $20,000. It took 80, 2.2 GHz processors for 3 months to factorize this 193 digit prime number.
